This very rare Citroen Saxo is an original electric car produced in limited series from 1997 to 2001 by the manufacturer, this is not a later modification. In 1997, Citroën launched an electric model in its range by adapting its small Saxo city car with an electric engine, 3-door and 5-door model. The engine is a Leroy-Somer, SA13cc type, and universal motor (11 kW nominal / 20 kW peak or from 15 to 27 hp). When it was marketed, customers were very surprised by this car able to reach a peak of 91 km/h, and its nickel-cadmium batteries allowed a range of up to 90 km. Unfortunately, the very high price of over €22,000 and the high production costs didn’t allow to produce a large number of units and now it is a very rare car. They were assembled by hand in a separate factory. This unit has probably the lowest mileage on the market. It’s a collector’s car, in very good condition. It has only 10489 original km, it was always kept indoors in a garage by passionate owners. All manuals and double keys are supplied with the car, including the charger that fits into a normal 220v outlet in the right mudguard of the car (as shown in photos). Interior and paint condition are excellent, with slight signs of use, considering it’s a 19-year-old vehicle. The original logos and stickers and the tags are all in place. The batteries still hold the charge, the car was inspected in October 2018 and it had only 9242 km, it was used on a weekly basis until February 2020.
