RARE Box in porcelain sandstone, from Thailand Ancient Sawankhalok Ceramics created in Si Satchanalai. Decoration of blue-black painting of scrolls on a beige background, as well as a beautiful fish on the lid.
Period: 15th century.
Excellent condition, traces of dirt and little chips on the lid.
Dimensions:
Height: 9.6 cm; diameter 9 cm.
Provenance: acquired from a collection of the region of Chester (UK), in 1997.
References: there is a similar item in the collection of the Ambassador Mr. Edward E. Masters and his wife.
