Lot consisting of 2 ceramic orcio jars of 500 ml each, POP ART series, SEPPIOLINE and FICO D’INDIA, of extra virgin olive oil produced by FRANTOIO MURAGLIA - Apulia - Italy.
Frantoio Muraglia was born in Andria, the capital of Puglia oil, five generations ago, but the real ‘family patriarch’ is now 450 years old. It is a majestic coratina olive tree, a native cultivar armed with polyphenols as few among the 538 classified Italian varieties. Our history of olive growers begins with this green giant that dominates our countryside in the Murgia Plateau, an expanse of about 40 hectares of olive trees. We carry on the collection of olives by hand and cold-pressing in the ancient stone mill.
The jars are from the POP ART series and are named: SEPPIOLINE and FICO D’INDIA, just like the images represented on each one, from left to right.
The orcio jars from the POP ART collection, entirely handmade by artisans of Puglia, are real design objects that lead straight to the colours of the land and sea of Puglia. Pop-style coloured marine elements: bright tones and matt colours customize octopus, squids and fish that dart on white ceramics enhancing its purity and perfect craftsmanship; instead pastel speckles become lucid rainbow iridescences - distinctive iconography of Frantoio Muraglia - that dive into the sea and customize colourful octopuses and come back to the ground by dyeing the prickly pears with warm hints.
